About Me

How often do you blog or send out newsletters?

I blog every Tuesday and sometimes other days of the week as well. But you can count on Tuesdays! Beginning September 2017, look for posts on Thursdays from the Jessica Sporn Designs Creative Team.

On the first Thursday of every month I post revisits of Stencil Test Drives I’ve conducted. I showcase how different artists used one of my designs from Stencil Girl Products.

I send out a newsletter about once a month, or more.

I also post several times a day on my Facebook page and on Instagram.

You can read more about me here.

Do you have an e-mail list? Or some way to subscribe to your blog?

Yes! Click here to receive my blog in your e-mail every time I post. I also have a newsletter, which is different from my blog. Sign up for my newsletter and I will send you a free download of my art, plus other news, every month.

What does your studio look like?

A picture’s worth a thousand words so…

Do you have formal art training?

No. As a child, I took classes at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. I’ve also taken online and in-person classes with a lot of wonderful teachers, such as Julie Balzer,  Tracy Verdugo, MaryBeth Shaw, Pam Carriker, Jodi Ohl, and more. Other than that I’m self-taught.

How can I take classes with you?

I offer  group classes in my home studio through Meetup. You have to join Meetup to see them, but it’s free to join! I also have downloadable classes you can purchase here.  The online classes come with videos, pdfs, and access to a special Facebook group where you can connect with me and I can answer your questions and give you feedback.

How long will I have access to an online class I purchase from you?

Forever! They are yours to download and keep.  I only ask that you not share the video and pdf links with anyone, as this is my livelihood!

What’s the benefit of online classes?

Online classes are convenient – you can tune into them when you have time, and revisit them whenever you would like.  They are an incredible value, and the Facebook group gives you social interaction with like-minded creatives from all over the world.

How do I know if I’m able to use the technology for an online class?

All you need is an internet connection, which I know you have because you’re reading this!  Our online course management system integrates videos, text, teacher interaction and more, and will provide all the links you need!

How do I access my course?

When you register you will get an immediate Paypal receipt and be directed to download page. Your welcome e-mail will be sent within 24 hours. It includes all the info and links you need.  If you do not receive an email within 48 hours, please check your spam folder first and the email address of your Paypal account, then e-mail me to let me know if you did not receive the welcome e-mail. Please forward a copy of your Paypal receipt and the name of the class.

Do I HAVE to participate in the Facebook Group?  I’m shy about showing my drawings and artwork.

No, but your creativity, artistic ability and confidence will improve dramatically if you do. Please be assured that there is no judgment in the online group: just support, helpful feedback, and encouragement.

What do I need to take one of your classes?

  • high speed internet
  • up to date browser and Adobe Flash
  • basic computer and internet skills
  • the ability to download and save files to your computer
  • basic supplies plus a supply list will come with most classes.
  • Substitutions are always welcomed.

What if I have a question?

Once you buy a class, you will be given access to a private Facebook Group where you can comment, share your work, and ask questions.

Can I download the class videos?

Yes! They are yours forever. However, please note that they are all one student per purchase. No splitting/sharing classes. All class materials are property of Jessica Sporn Designs and may not be distributed or retaught.

Is there a PDF with each class?

Each class is different. If there is a PDF, it will be listed in the class description.

Can I watch the videos as many times as I want?

Yes. Download them and watch them as often as you wish!

What if I experience a technical issue?

We check and double check these videos. Most likely there is a problem at your end. It can be a browser issue solved by opening a new or different browser window. Restarting your computer takes time but usually fixes any issues. Your internet connection can cause lagging issues or loading issues.

Make sure you are using current software (operating system—updates come regularly these days) on your computer and have the most current version of Adobe Flash installed.

If you are still experiencing an issue, the last resort is to contact us through our Facebook group. and give us a detailed description of what is happening.

What if I want to learn more from you?

Subscribe to my blog and YouTube channel, where I have lots of free tutorials for you.

Are there any guidelines for the Facebook Group?

Yes! Please keep your posts and interactions respectful, inspiring and encouraging. No promoting/advertising yourself or other’s classes/products/retreats. No links please to anything other than your work in connection with your Jessica Sporn Designs class. Anything that does not meet the guidelines will magically disappear without notice. Please do not upload any art that is not your work.

Can I split/share a class with a friend?

No, one student per purchase. By signing up for and paying for a workshop, you agree not to share that workshop with others who have not paid. You agree not to share downloads or claim these ideas as your own. We know you know. It has to be said. Please respect that this is how I earn a living!

Can I gift a class?

What a lovely idea! Please contact us and let’s make someone’s day!

Can I use a payment method other than PayPal?

At this point, we are only able to deal with Paypal for class fees. Perhaps in the future we can find an alternative to PayPal but for right now it is what works best.
